Sea-run ‘salter’ brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) original colored pencil drawing by Mike Palmer. Sea-run, or ‘salter‘, brook trout once inhabited New England coastal streams from Connecticut to Maine. These unique trout spend part of the year in the cold spring-fed freshwater coastal streams before migrating in the fall into the estuaries to overwinter.

  • Pictures show approximate look of final artwork, but variations will occur on hand-colored originals

    • Customers are welcome to provide a reference photo for me to use when producing the final piece (please provide a note when checking out and I will follow up by email)

    • Original fish drawings are only available in the 18” x 24” size

    • Reproduction prints of the artwork as shown in the images are available, just select ‘Giclee Color Reproduction’ under Print Type

      • Reproductions are available in all sizes

  • Printed with archival giclee pigment inks on museum-grade fine art paper (~20 mil/300 gsm)

  • Signed with the artist’s hanko stamp and accompanied by a certificate containing a short description of the fish species and proof of authenticity.

  • All art is frame-ready and available to ship anywhere in the United States.

    • Please note that at this time I do not offer mat-cutting or framing services except for custom orders with local delivery
